Foundation Releases Study on The State of Nonprofits in Southeast Louisiana 2021
The study found that nonprofits successfully adapted to meet the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and that many even expanded their services to support the people of our region. The study also found that while a sizable percentage of nonprofits in Southeast Louisiana have Black and BIPOC executive directors, executive team members, board chairs, and board members, there is still a racial leadership gap within the region’s nonprofit sector, particularly in arts and culture organizations.

Hurricane Ida Disaster Response & Restoration Fund Grant Updates
Hurricane Ida made landfall in SE Louisiana as a Category 4 Hurricane, wreaking havoc all along its path, particularly in the Lafourche and Terrebonne parish, but causing damage extending into Jefferson, Orleans, St. Tammany, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles and other parishes. To make these grants, the Foundation team has taken guidance from parish officials, conducted due diligence and prioritized ongoing grassroots responses led by people who are native to the impacted parishes and know their communities best. To date, we have awarded $3,182,000 in grants to our nonprofit partners.
