Foundation Announces $1,315,000 in New Hurricane Ida Relief Grants
The Foundation has announced $1,315,000 in immediate assistance grants to local nonprofits leading disaster response and has now distributed over $3.2 million in four rounds of grantmaking.

Hurricane Ida Disaster Response & Restoration Fund Grant Updates
Hurricane Ida made landfall in SE Louisiana as a Category 4 Hurricane, wreaking havoc all along its path, particularly in the Lafourche and Terrebonne parish, but causing damage extending into Jefferson, Orleans, St. Tammany, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles and other parishes. To make these grants, the Foundation team has taken guidance from parish officials, conducted due diligence and prioritized ongoing grassroots responses led by people who are native to the impacted parishes and know their communities best. To date, we have awarded $3,182,000 in grants to our nonprofit partners.

Today, Greater New Orleans Foundation President and CEO, Andy Kopplin joined Mayor LaToya Cantrell to announce that Blue Bikes, Louisiana’s first bikeshare program, will return to the City of New Orleans later this summer. A fleet of 500 pedal-assist e-bikes will be ready to ride by September 1.
