The Eagle Assistance Fund was established to assist current full-time (minimum of 6 months continuous employment) and part-time employees (minimum of 20 hours per week) of Southern Eagle who may be suffering financial hardship due to a medical or catastrophic event.  Employees may request assistance between $500-$2,500 per qualified event based on date of hire. Assistance is capped at $2,500 per employee annually.

The fund is intended to support employees facing unforeseen financial hardship due to:

    • Medical emergencies
    • Natural disasters (e.g., hurricanes, floods, etc.)
    • Loss of primary residence (e.g. fire, natural disasters, death of family member which leads to loss of residence)
    • Funeral expenses for immediate family members
    • Loss of transportation due to unexpected circumstances (not for situations related to financial irresponsibility).
    • Other exceptional circumstances (committee to review on case-by-case basis).

Applications are strictly confidential. Grants made from the fund are gifts, not loans, and are not required to be repaid.

The Eagle Assistance Fund accepts only electronic application submissions through the Foundation’s online portal. The Greater New Orleans Foundation’s technology partner, Foundant, has created a brief tutorial for applicants that may be viewed here.

Proposals that are not submitted electronically may not be considered.
