If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) at the Greater New Orleans Foundation or at another DAF Sponsor, the Foundation makes it easy to support local nonprofit organizations on GiveNOLA Day using your DAF. Depending on where your DAF is housed, use the step-by-step giving guide below that applies to you and email Kristin Petry, Major & Planned Giving Officer, kristin@gnof.org if you have further questions.
If you have a DAF at the Foundation:
- Visit www.givenola.org to see if your favorite local nonprofit is participating in GiveNOLA Day
- Determine the amount you wish to contribute to participating nonprofit(s) & calculate the total donation
- Submit a grant recommendation from your DAF at the Foundation for the total amount of your GiveNOLA Day contribution(s) to the Greater New Orleans Foundation (insert tax ID) by emailing Kristin Petry at kristin@gnof.org including the following information:
- Your full legal name
- How you want to be recognized: The name of your fund will be used for the grant award letter. If you would like to use your name or remain anonymous, please indicate your preference
- Public charity (e.g. Fidelity Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, etc.)
- Name of participating nonprofit(s) you wish to support
- Donation amount for each nonprofit ($100 minimum)
- A member of the Development team will reach out to confirm receipt of your nonprofit recommendations and will process the grant on your behalf.

If you have a DAF at another DAF Sponsor:
- Visit www.givenola.org to see if your favorite local nonprofit is participating in GiveNOLA Day
- Determine the amount you wish to contribute to participating nonprofit(s) & calculate the total donation
- Submit a grant recommendation from your outside or external DAF for the total amount of your GiveNOLA Day contribution(s) to the Greater New Orleans Foundation (insert tax ID) by emailing Kristin Petry at kristin@gnof.org including the following information:
- Your full legal name
