Fall Learning Calendar

The Greater New Orleans Foundation Organizational Effectiveness Initiative is excited to offer numerous learning opportunities this fall. We will be offering Fundraising 101, Board Governance 101, and Fundraising 201: Fundraising with Individual Donors.

Tuesday, September 10 Fundraising 101- Registration is now closed. Materials from this workshop can be found here.

Presented in conjunction with The Funding Seed, this workshop focuses on the steps and tools that nonprofits use to create a diversified funding plan. Participants will learn the pros and cons of the typical methods nonprofits use to raise money and the role the Board of Directors in fundraising.

This workshop is open to executive directors, program and development staff, and board members. We strongly encourage organizational teams comprised of a staff member and a board member participate in the workshop together.

The Fundraising 101 workshop is on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 8:15-noon at the Greater New Orleans located at 1055 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130. Tuesday, October 15 Board Governance 101

Presented in conjunction with the Louisiana Association of Nonprofits (LANO), this workshop covers the basics all nonprofits need to know about good governance including board member roles and responsibilities. Participants will learn about promising practices and trends in board governance and receive tools and sample policies. This workshop is open to executive directors and board members only. We strongly encourage organizational teams comprised of the executive director and a board member participate in the workshop together.

The Board Governance 101 workshop is on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 8:15-noon at the Greater New Orleans located at 1055 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130. Wednesday, October 30 Fundraising with Individual Donors -Registration for this class is now closed.

Presented in conjunction with The Funding Seed, this workshop is designed to help participants design a successful individual donor strategy. Participants will learn about the capacities needed to manage an individual donor fundraising program and how to engage board members in fundraising with individuals. Information will also be presented on cultivating donor prospects and donor stewardship.  This workshop is open to executive directors, program and development staff, and board members. We strongly encourage organizational teams comprised of a staff member and a board member participate in the workshop together.
