Board Officers and Committee Chairs: Roles and Responsibilities

Board Officers and Committee Chairs: Roles and Responsibilities

June 23, 2026
11:30am-1:00pm

Virtual

Many people step into leadership roles on their boards without understanding what’s expected of them or how to fulfill the role effectively – yet much is riding on their ability to do so. In this webinar, attendees will discuss how these leadership roles support good governance, contribute to the effectiveness of the board, and have a positive impact on the organization. Participants will leave with role clarity and a set of templates they can customize for their own use.

These specific topics will be addressed:

  • Roles and responsibilities of the Board Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary;
  • Roles and responsibilities of committee chairs;
  • Tips and strategies for structuring and leading committees effectively;
  • Succession planning for officers and committee chairs to ensure officer preparedness and leadership continuity; and
  • Customizable templates for board officer job descriptions and committee charters.
