Sherina Clavier

Vice President of Finance

Sherina joined the Foundation as Director of Finance in 2019 and currently serves as Vice President of Finance. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) with over 25 years of experience in auditing and accounting. Prior to joining the Foundation, Sherina spent a combined 13 years as an auditor, first with a Big Four accounting firm, and most recently with a local firm where she developed an emphasis in auditing nonprofit organizations. Sherina has also held financial accounting and management roles in telecommunications and real estate, where she developed skills in budgeting and financial analysis. In 2023, she was also commissioned as a notary public in the State of Louisiana.

As Vice President of Finance, Sherina is responsible for the strategic management of the Foundation’s financial health, as well as all financial reporting and tax compliance matters. She also acts as liaison to the Foundation’s outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) in managing over $500 million in cash and investments. She oversees the Finance team to ensure financial transactions across more than 1,100 funds are properly accounted for and ensures that the Foundation’s audits continue to demonstrate that the Foundation maintains the highest standards for financial integrity.

Sherina is a native of New Orleans and a graduate of Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business with Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Finance, and a minor in Spanish. She is also a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans. She is a member of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) where she serves on the Financial Literacy and Not-for-Profit Issues Committees. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Louisiana Notary Association.
