Christina D. Fontenot

Program Officer, Workforce Programs

Christina Fontenot is a proud native of South Central Los Angeles by way of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She first moved to New Orleans in 2000 to attend Dillard University, where she earned her degree in Elementary and Special Education. Christina went on to earn her master’s degree in Counseling and began her career at the University of Southern California, supporting college students through academic advising and student services.

In 2015, she returned to New Orleans to serve as the Director of College Counseling at Cohen College Prep, deepening her commitment to educational equity and student success. Since then, Christina continued to lead and innovate across the education and workforce sectors—serving in key leadership roles at Tulane University’s Cowen Institute and as a national leader at College Track.

Her work supporting young people in discovering and navigating their education and career pathways has fueled a deep commitment to regional workforce development. Christina remains dedicated to building systems that expand access, opportunity, and long-term success for youth and communities across the region.
