The Foundation is partnering with the City of New Orleans on the NOLA for Life Initiative, a comprehensive murder reduction strategy aimed at tackling the city’s historically high murder rate.
The Foundation is a co-sponsor of the annual Police Perception Survey administered by the N.O. Police and Justice Foundation. The survey tracks public attitudes about the effectiveness of the NOPD. Chief Serpas has stated that the survey is an effective NOPD management tool.

The Foundation’s Environmental Fund has adopted lead abatement as one of its four funding areas. There is strong evidence supporting a link between high levels of lead contamination and geographic variations in the violent crime rate.
