Please Note: If you are interested in participating in this last part of the series, you must have attended both virtual sessions of part 2, “From Assessment to Integration: The Strategic Restructuring Process.” 

Organizational leaders – both board members and executive staff – have important roles to play in the development of successful partnerships. This third part of the Strategic Partnerships and Organizational Restructuring for Stronger Nonprofits Workshop Series provides two in-person sessions and five hours of coaching per organization to support the execution of a strategic restructuring, consolidation, or merger process. 

The first in-person session will support staff and board members in the completion of a self-assessment tool to provide a holistic view of the organization’s interest. Using the data from the assessment, the second session will help participants identify the most significant and critical issues shaping the organization’s future success and the desired outcomes sought through a formal partnership. Participants will be poised to launch the negotiations phase of the strategic restructuring, consolidation, or mergers process. 

In this third part of the workshop series, participants will: 

  • complete an assessment to identify their core interests and critical issues; 
  • launch negotiations with potential partner organizations; 
  • develop a mitigation strategy for expressed concerns and roadblocks; and 
  • receive tailored support and coaching as they launch and engage in negotiations. 

This installment is intended for teams of organizations who have identified a strategic restructuring, consolidation, or merger project they want to pursue. Representatives from all partner organizations are expected to attend both in-person sessions on March 14, 2024 from 10am-12pm and April 17, 2024 from 10am-12pm and be available for coaching.  

To be considered for this third part of the series, organizations must have attended “From Assessment to Integration: The Strategic Restructuring Process” and completed an application. Applications will open on January 10, 2024. The fee is $150 per organization. Scholarships are available for organizations who demonstrate readiness to maximize their experience in the sessions.
