Jilla Tombar serves as the Corporate & Foundation Partnerships Officer at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. In this role, Jilla advocates for deeper philanthropic investments in the New Orleans region. By helping companies and foundations structure targeted investments, Jilla is able to ensure critical programs that build nonprofit leadership and capacity, promote equitable and sustainable development, and increase economic opportunity are able to thrive. Jilla also supports the Foundation’s inclusive philanthropy initiatives by working to inspire and support greater diversity and inclusiveness in all aspects of philanthropy.
Jilla’s career spans eighteen years in both the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors where she has helped leading-edge organizations in Washington, DC and New Orleans raise funds to meet their missions. This includes the Earth Conservation Corps, the Latin American Youth Center, and the Center for Nonprofit Advancement. Jilla also worked with many nonprofits as donor relations expert and nonprofit management consultant.
Jilla is an ardent supporter of the arts, the environment, and adoption. She serves on the board of directors for the IMH Foundation, Parkway Partners, and the Uptown Music Theatre.
Jilla earned a Master of Philanthropy & Development degree from LaGrange College and is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She lives in New Orleans with her husband, Fred, and three children: Chloe, Frederick, and Calliope.
