The Friends of Lafitte Corridor

Play

The Friends of Lafitte Corridor are working on an exciting project in the heart of New Orleans to connect historic neighborhoods with a three-mile long strip of land that was formerly a railroad path.

Hi Skip,
I’m a friend of Jill Miller…would like to connect with you.

FOLC is an extremely committed and hard working group of New Orleanians dedicated to turning wasted land into a pedestrian and bicycle thoroughfare by creating a safe, clean, green space corridor stretching from the French Quarter to the lake. This concept follows a model of national best practices embraced by cities across the nation and accomplishing it here in New Orleans is nothing less than heroic. My hope is that by establishing the Lafitte Greenway a platform for youth jobs will also be created whereby guides, maintenance, and security positions can be staffed by those living in stake-holding neighborhoods along the Greenway route. One would be hard pressed to find a more worthy civic project in New Orleans today.
