The purpose of the GNOF Exxon-Mobil Fund, a Donor Advised Fund of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, is to improve the quality of life for people in Algiers and St. Bernard Parish. An advisory committee of business and civic leaders meet annually to review grant requests in all program areas relative to the designated areas.
For St. Bernard Parish, the Committee typically recommends grants that do not exceed $10,000, although larger grants may be made in extraordinary circumstances. For the designated area in Algiers, the Committee typically recommends grants that do not exceed $4,000. View Algiers boundaries here.
While priority is given to nonprofit organizations based in St. Bernard Parish or Algiers, nonprofit organizations serving the St. Bernard or Algiers area will be given consideration.
Nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations that serve Algiers and St. Bernard Parish are eligible to apply for funding. Organizations that are not tax-exempt but have a fiscal agent relationship with a 501(c)(3) organization are also eligible.
The Fund will provide for the following types of funding:
Organizations applying for grants should complete the online application and provide the following:
Applicants should submit their completed proposal (including supporting material) via GNOF’s online portal. If your organization has already created a profile, simply log in with the same information and you will be able to apply to the GNOF Exxon-Mobil Fund. If not, setting up a profile is a very easy process. Creating a profile will allow you to track the status of your grants from the Foundation’s various programs in the future as we bring more programs online.
Our technology partner, Foundant, has created a brief tutorial for applicants that may be viewed here. It is highly recommended that all applicants review this video before beginning a new application in order to better understand the process.
