The Greater New Orleans Foundation and the Kellogg Foundation Partner for Children
Nobel Prize winner and writer Pearl S. Buck said, “If our American way of life fails the child, it fails us all.” This philosophy is echoed in a partnership recently formed between the Michigan-based W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Over the next three years, the two foundations will work to improve the quality of life for children in the Greater New Orleans area, particularly for vulnerable children aged 0 – 8 years.
“One of the reasons the Kellogg Foundation is investing in New Orleans is because civic engagement is at an all time high,” said Albert Ruesga, president and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Foundation. “There is a great momentum in this community for making positive change, and there is no better place to begin than by investing in our children.”
The Greater New Orleans Foundation will identify and partner with strong nonprofits that are advocating for at-risk children and their families. “We’re honored to be Kellogg’s on the ground trusted resource,” said Ellen Lee, vice president of programs at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. “Together we’ll have a tremendous impact.”
The total investment is $1.5 million over the next three years. Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to sign-up for the Greater New Orleans Foundation email newsletters to be notified of grantmaking opportunities at www.gnof.org.

Good points all around. Truly apepriacted.
