Deadline Approaching to Apply for Gert Town Community Grants

New Orleans, La – August 31, 2009 is the deadline to apply for the Gert Town Community Grants through the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Up to $50,000 per nonprofit organization will be considered.

The purpose of the Gert Town Community Fund, a donor advised fund of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, is to enhance the quality of life for people in the Gert Town community. Program areas include education, beautification, housing, generational services, and economic development.

The Fund will support nonprofit organizations that are either located in Gert Town or serve residents of Gert Town.
Funding decisions will be made in October. Nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations are eligible as are organizations that have a fiscal agent relationship with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
