Dream with us for a moment. Imagine a truly greater New Orleans region, with outstanding workforce housing, world-class public education, and a lasting solution to coastal erosion. Now, imagine that you had a hand in creating that New Orleans. With your continued support, it can … and will happen.

Our founders understood that community needs evolve, often in unexpected ways.  They understood that the Greater New Orleans Foundation would be a much-needed, permanent resource for the community, capable of anticipating and responding to changing community needs.

This past year has been a time of both challenges and opportunities for the Greater New Orleans region. As we learned with Hurricane Katrina, when the unexpected happens, we must be prepared to respond, quickly and effectively.

Within days of the BP oil spill, the Foundation established the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund and immediately helped struggling fishermen and their families by supporting the Louisiana Fisheries Assistance Center. We continue to respond to the needs of those impacted communities.

As your community foundation, the Greater New Orleans Foundation responds with ongoing programs in areas such as coastal recovery, housing, and community development. We bring much more than financial resources to the table.  Our dedicated staff is committed to improving the quality of life for all our citizens. Their leadership and intellectual capital enable our region’s nonprofit organizations to be more effective in what they do.

As a member of the Foundation family, your generous contribution has enabled us to be a resource to the community and respond to its needs. We must be able to continue this work.
