The St, Bernard Volunteers for Family and Community has received an Exxon Mobil grant for 2008 and 2009 for our Christmas Tour of Homes. Please let us know when the 2010 grant applications will be ready.

Thanks, Lauren. Our organization is a church not an arts and culture organization. We are restoring church documents and books that relate to the 1880s history of the settlement of New Orleans. Will that meet the criteria?

GNOF replies: Maggie, the Selley Foundation funds capital projects for arts and culture organizations serving the metropolitan New Orleans area. If your organization is a registered 501c3 public charity and meets these criteria, you may apply for funding.

Can a restoration/conservation project of Katrina damaged historical church documents dating from the 1880s be considered an art & culture project for the Selley Foundation?

GNOF replies: Aggie, please sign up for our e-newsletter to receive the most up-to-date information about all of our grant cycles, including those that assist families, women, and children. You may sign up at http://www.gnof.org/email-newsletter-sign-up/

How can we apply for a Kellogg grant?

Lauren, organizations from Algiers applying to the Exxon Mobil Grant must reside in the class boundaries designated in the settlement. The boundaries consist of the triangle–shaped area starting at the point where the Intercoastal Canal meets the Mississippi River, Northwest along Patterson, South on Kabel Drive and Lennox Boulevard, East on Tullis, following the Intercoastal Waterway back to Patterson.

What parts of Algiers are eligible for the Exxon Mobil Grant?

Lauren: The Exxon Mobil advisory committee meets each summer to establish that year’s deadline. One has not been set up yet, but please sign up for our email newsletter to be kept informed of when the deadline is announced.

I know that the Exxon Mobil grant is given out each year. When is the deadlines for applications? What part of Algiers is eligible for the grant? I had heard that only certain parts of Algiers could apply.
