Job Announcement: Finance Assistant

The Greater New Orleans Foundation seeks a Finance Assistant to work with the Vice President of Finance and Administration in managing the daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Highly organized and ability to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail, quality and accuracy
  • Positive telephone presence
  • Ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative information
  • Self motivated with the ability to work well alone or in teams
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to learn new effective finance and administrative strategies
  • Ability to retain what has been learned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in bookkeeping, specifically accounts payable
  • Strong computer skills, including data-entry and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Non-profit accounting experience a plus
