COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION

The Community Revitalization Fund at the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) was created and is supported by leading local and national foundations concerned with the future of New Orleans.  The Fund seeks to invest in three key areas: housing production, strengthening the affordable housing sector as a whole (including public policy and human capital), and the promotion of smart growth development principles.  GNOF’s CR Program supports housing and community revitalization activities that will create—or are a component of—a working system that generates equitable housing and community development at scale in the City of New Orleans.

The participating funders of the Community Revitalization Fund descended upon New Orleans in early February to share ideas and hear from local stakeholders - among them, James Carville.

Angela Glover Blackwell, a national leader for social justice and equity, spoke at the New Orleans Housing Institute, a monthly series sponsored by the Urban Institute and Community Revitalization Fund (CRF). Click Here to read Q&A with Angela Glover Blackwell.
