GNOF’s Ellen Lee Named to Advisory Panel by HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan
Ellen Lee, senior vice president of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, will be part of a team of 12 managers that will work closely with David Gilmore, the turnaround expert charged with fixing the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO). The announcement was made by HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan in a recent press release. “Ellen will be a strong asset on that leadership team,” says Albert Ruesga, president and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Foundation. “She brings much experience to the table including her years running the Foundation’s housing fund – the Community Revitalization Fund. For many years, she’s been a strong advocate for better integrating HANO’s work with that of other city departments.”

Ellen is well respected in the Housing Arena and certainly brings a wealth of experience. During her work with me at the City of New Orleans Mayors Office she showed her ability to make good decisions in the area of community and housing revitalization.
EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!, Ellen is a true professional who has a wealth of experience in the housing arena. She also understands the culture of the community and is keenly aware of the tremendous challenges facing public housing residents. Ellen will be an asset to the HUD team.
