The recently published 2007 Annual Report salutes 25 years of philanthropy at work in our community. You may download a copy or if you didn’t receive a hard copy and would like one, please call Anna at (504) 598-4663 or email anna@gnof.org.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, GNOF launched a new and improved website, www.gnof.org. Find out how to start a charitable fund, read stories about our grants at work and discover how we work with professional advisors. On the home page, we invite you to sign up to be a philanthropist. Enter your name and favorite nonprofit charitable organization and four lucky winners can make a grant of $250 in their name.

Members of the St. Bernard Community Foundation presented a check in the amount of $60,000 to Parish President Craig Taffaro. The grant will allow the parish to hire a national leader in planning and public policy to rewrite its zoning regulations in an effort to simplify the rebuilding process for both officials and private developers.

The Greater New Orleans Foundation is pleased to announce the $450,673.98 was distributed from the Noah’s Wish fund to reimburse animal wefare organizations for their rescue operations following Hurricane Katrina. A total of 24 grants were distributed to organizations in 11 states.
