1923 Legacy Society
The name of our 1923 Legacy Society is based on the founding date of the New Orleans Community Chest, the organization that eventually became the Greater New Orleans Foundation. It recognizes all the caring individuals who have contributed to the well-being of our community for over three quarters of a century. The 1923 Legacy Society honors those individuals who have established a planned gift either to or through the Foundation. Membership in the 1923 Society entitles you to receive many benefits, including a listing in our annual report and invitations to special events—as well as professional advice and personalized services.
Giving While Living
The Greater New Orleans Foundation recently published Giving While Living, a book about planned giving in New Orleans. In the book, Lafayette LeChat and his friend Claude DeMieux decide to do their all-time favorite New Orleans activities in one day. In between riding the streetcar, munching on po’boys, and dancing in a second line, Lafayette learns about the many ways he can make the gift of a lifetime to the city he loves.
