I love New Orleans because every once in a while in a local magazine* I read a letter to the editor like this one:
You wrote an article about Richard Simoneaux and his wife of Glory Clowns which stated an incorrect fact. To clarify, they are not the only husband-wife clown team in the area. He is well-aware that my wife and I are also a husband-and-wife clown team…
I am a retired Clyde Beatty Cole Brothers circus clown, and my wife trained with Clowns of America International. She is an award-winning face painter and had her work featured in Illusion magazine, an international magazine. Our clown names are “Yo Yo the Magical Clown” and “Polka Dot.” We were featured on NBC’s America’s Got Talent on July 1, 2009 doing one of our Cajun routines. I balanced a running lawn mower on my chin while playing the washboard and Nick Cannon threw lettuce, onions and bell peppers in the real running blades simultaneously as my wife played the guitar and sang “Jambalaya.”
I’ve been in New Orleans long enough to know you don’t put lettuce in a Jambalaya.

I, too, saw this article and laughed! And yes, why lettuce? 2/3 ‘s of the Trinity is already there, why not throw celery…!
