New Orleans Regional Workforce Collaborative (NORWC) seeks a Site Director. He / she will be responsible for the start up, development, implementation and management of a two-year workforce development initiative sponsored by a collaborative of ten funders (national and local foundations and other community-based organizations) in partnership with the City of New Orleans. The goal of the collaborative is to improve career advancement opportunities for low-income, lower-skilled individuals to address the workforce needs of our growing healthcare and biosciences industries. The NORWC executive committee, chaired by Ellen Lee of GNOF, will provide oversight of the Director.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and collaborative strategic thinker with proven experience in workforce development. S/he has a demonstrated ability to communicate, develop, and implement a comprehensive plan working closely with multiple partners. Specifically, the Site Director must demonstrate:
- Knowledge of workforce development practices, systems, financing and program design;
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners, including government entities, policy decision makers, employers, community-based NPOs and other key stakeholders;
- Project management experience with complex, multi-component efforts;
- Established leadership skills, including the ability to manage a board of directors and stakeholder groups;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- Experience with community outreach and development; and
- Ability to raise funds from public and private sources.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree and three to five years experience
- Experience with workforce development
